Intensive In Community (IIC) Work & Behavioral Assistants (BA)

Chrissy and her team work to provide psychotherapy, parent coaching, and other intensive services to children & youth age 3-21 and their families through NJ’s Children’s System of Care (a state funded program which is free of charge regardless of a family’s income).

To become involved with our IIC or BA services, families should not contact us directly. Please call Perform Care (the NJ Children’s System of Care Service Administrator): 877-652-7624 and request our practice to work with you and your child.

SLS holds a contract with the Center for Family Services (the family crisis intervention unit of Morris & Sussex counties), Caring Partners (the care management organization for Morris & Sussex Counties), and Tri-County CMO (the care management organization for Warren, Hunterdon, and Somerset Counties) and receives IIC referrals exclusively through these organizations.

IIC services usually consist of weekly 2 hour sessions which take place at the child/youth’s home, or elsewhere in the community (at a park, library, etc.). If a child/youth has been referred through the family crisis unit, services are usually short term, 8-12 weeks in duration. If a child/youth has been referred through the care management organization, services are longer, usually 12 weeks-9 months in duration.

Services are intensive because to qualify, children/youth must be in acute behavioral or mental health crisis, or must meet certain criteria for their level of risk to themselves or others.
